early morning babbling

I know it is 7:00 and that is NOT early, but I normally don't crack an eyelid until at about 8:00---so what do I do with an extra hour--Blog of course....

well normally I would clean or some thing, but Lucas is sleeping, so I quietly type.

I do have a load of laundry going--that counts for something right?

Today a "fun" day is scheduled.

8:00: Teach the Head Start ladies how to use the cricut
9:00: Run to grocery store for Milk and bread
10:00 Primary meeting (yes I finished my agenda!)
12:00 Taxes in Alamosa--I will blog about that later
then do all my normal alamosa stuff (not in this order)
-library
-bank
-$1.00 store to look for My Little Pony party stuff for Pam
-drop stuff off at thrift store
-grocery shop
-Pick up film at wal-mart

Come home--NAP
make dinner
pay some bills
prepare for interveiw---

tomorrow

1:15 INTERVEIW WITH LIBRARY!! I am so excited. I want to prepare for that interveiw tonight--I have been preparing for it for a while, but I will "cram" for it--you know. I will reveiw all the library information on their website...I will write down my goals and objectives for the library...I will focus on what I think is the most important things--I will dye my hair--
yes--you read that last part correct. I don't think 2 inc roots showing is very professional, so part of being prepared is finding an outfit (I am thinking my great or tan pants with my purple shirt), looking good and being prepared!

---------------------------------------------------------

Taxes 101

1. do taxes
2. go to get taxes done
3. have a HUGE loss
4. Tell Lucas
5. Have him go over taxes with me
6. find THOUSANDS of DOLLARS worth of mistakes (anyone can put diseal in three times right? Not such a big deal for others, but when our diseal total for the year is about $28,000. then it becomes a BIG deal)

So I went in and did taxes--we showed a loss at about $17,000. I felt like I did all the figures right, so I didn't argue. Then I called Lucas and he had some things to say about that. He called our tax person back and said "give us a few days to figure this out"! What a smart man!!

I put ALL of lucky luke's trucking income (minus Lucas's personal income) as Lucas's personal income!! The business income I put as the total (minus Luca's income--which was wrong in the first place)--minus the deductions--which was wrong in the second place--I am not sure how we only showed a $17,000 loss----Plus -- I didn't check ALL the bank statements the first time (we have about 6 active accounts)--and MISSED THOUSANDS of dollars of deposts--yep--that is how great I am!!

WISH us better luck today!

So after Lucas going over it with a fine tooth comb, we are both happy (not so much during--but I thank Heavenly Father for a patient husband!)--and ready to submit our taxes (again).

--------------------------------------------------------------

I moved toys into the playroom---Not happy at all with the way it looks. I am not sure what do to do about it. Maybe repaint all the walls a creamy yellow color--add rugs to help section off the floor--do a different storage idea with the toys? I am just not sure! pictures to come soon

yeah my 100 post!!

have you ever forgotten to eat dinner? What about forgetting to feed your kids dinner?
last night my kids had chocolate milk and fruit snacks for dinner---well not really--but they had a snack at 5:30--and then I went to a school meeting at 6:00 with them. They had food for the adults at the adult meeting, but I have NO Idea if they fed the kids or not. Nor will Iknow until Sedona wakes up. I just asked Pepper if they ate

Amy: Pepper did you eat at the school last night?
Pepper: Yeah.
A: you ate?
P: yeah.
A: did you have tuna fish? (that is what the adults had and that is why I didn't eat)
P: yeah.
A: did you eat elephant ears too?
P: umm..yeah.

so---I think I made it on the list of bad moms yesterday. BUT what I can say is I was up at 6:30 getting Pepper breakfast--so that redeemed me a little right?

PLUS what a BLESSING it is to be able to give my children food. I think of all the people who can't feed their children dinner--or breakfast. It breaks my heart.

Pepper loves to tell us OK and yeah--and then do her own thing. Pepper go get your shoes...OK...only to have to track her down a few minutes later doing something TOTALLY different... Pepper clean up your toys--OK--only to keep playing. I see now how frustrating that is and I am sorry mom I did that as a kids/teenager/adult! :)

Dress Up

Pepper and Sedona have a lot of fun together. (when they aren't fighting!)

This is what they came downstairs wearing one day...we weren't going anywhere so I didn't argue. They had a lot of fun with it! Sedona has one a matching vest which her hair covers up. She even brought me a brown shirt to turn inside out for her, so that she would "totally match!"

I think my girls are STUNNING!! Even as butterflys and cowgirls!

Ballon Mail.

The girls sometimes get a balloon at the dollar store for being good! They love them and play with them...but this time they did something new.

They drew on them.

Sedona drew a face on each side of hers --

one side sad--see all the tears

One side happy

She then drew sleeping faces on Pepper--since that is what Pepper wanted.

Pepper's balloon is snoring on this side--I didn't get a good picture of the other side, but image this one with a smile mouth.

Then Sedona brought me little "Secret" special deleivery via Balloon mail. I got lots of fun treasures--like little toys, and such. They received secret special delieveries too...gummy fruit snacks, a quarter for each of them, and other little items.

Balloon mail with fruit snacks waiting for the girls to find it!
It was really fun that afternoon to take turns sneaking delieveries to each other.

Lucky Luke's Day

Today Lucas was up and gone by 6:30 ish--to be ready to get loaded at 7:00 so that the ground would still be frozen.
Well--it wasn't frozen. He got stuck and three hours after getting loaded he was heading out.
Then I remembered to go and get my signature notarized for Town Board (Lucas is running).
I forgot he had to sign in FRONT of the notarize in person also--so I call him--Luckily he was in Manassa--so I went to go and get him to drive back to La Jara.
We get stuck in this LONG line of cars all going at least 15 miles UNDER the speed limit.
Get there--get the papers signed--return to to the truck.
I get home and see that I have Lucas's CELL PHONE! Ugg. Too late. Can't call him to stop him, can't catch him....

He borrowed the phone of the guy who unloaded him to let me know he when he would be home.

So after I am sure a long day for Lucas I am sure he will be ready for a good night sleep. After doing a run that should have only taken about 6 hours-(he should have been home between 2-4 this afternoon)-It is it has been a LONG day! Poor guy!

BUT...
I finished the "non-fun" part of the playroom. OK--I still have to fix the top corners, get the electricity done, and the desk skirt and desk chairs--but really--I am ALMOST done. The rest if FUN decorating stuff. I am totally excited.

AND

Pam and I cleaned out the deep freeze. We had a breaker go out and the freezer in the garage went out--not sure how much meat was ruined, but lots of blood was at the bottom of the freezer. Did you know that Hydrogen Peroxide lifts blood off of stuff! It is AMAZING. I scrubbed for about 20 minutes before Pam told me that. I had cleaned maybe 1/8 of the bottom of the freezer---after dumping hydrogen Peroxide in the bottom and waiting about 5 minuts the blood mostly just wiped up! It is the best--I guess it is great for getting blood out of clothing too!! I am so excited to try it--but not excited enough to give myself a bloody nose!!

The Holy Ghost

Tonight as I put Sedona to bed, she told me she didn't feel the Holy Ghost last time she prayed for him to be with her. We have an excellent conversation about what it means to "have the Holy Ghost with her". At the end we were able to say a prayer and ask that she could feel the Holy Ghost.

After the prayer she calmed down (she was practically crying she was so upset over not feeling the Holy Ghost), and said that she felt him and was ready to go to sleep. I sang to her a little and told her a little story...actually I told her about the apron swap since that is what she wanted to hear about.

As I was about out of hearing range she says..."mom, can I tell you one more thing?".

"Sure Honey, what?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

She is such a wonderful child.
I am totally blessed with amazing children.
